I can finally post this since I finally got to the Weeping Angels.
I wish people hadn’t built them up for me so much though. I need to learn to turn my ears off when people are talking to me about Doctor Who. I feel like I keep forming judgements about things I haven’t gotten to yet (Like Amy Pond for example) and that happened with the Weeping Angels for sure.
They’re super creepy but in a cool way for me and definitely didn’t scare me like people said they would. At all. I know that will disappoint and confuse some of you, but it is what it is. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I definitely see how they scare other people, but I personally don’t scare easily to begin with and these guys were not nearly up to the level of scariness it would take to freak me out. Honestly, I’ve never been scared watching Doctor Who thus far. I mean, I watched Paranormal Activity 4 and was scared to sleep for like 2 days and then that was it. Over it. And I do consider that movie scary. If Doctor Who was at that status then yeah, I would probably have been crying. Sorry guys, not so.
In general I really like the Weeping Angels as a…. villain…monster….whatever. The whole concept around them is so creative and I thought they were interesting, but not scary. So, while watching episodes with these guys in them would be creepy at the time of watching, I’m definitely not walking around and fearing running into a weeping angel nor am I hiding under my covers and turning the lights on every 30 seconds to make sure there isn’t one in my room.
